This indispensable accessory adapts well to the dimensions of stone barbecues and weber models (47 cm or 57 cm).
A cover is used to shield a barbecue or plancha, whether it's for indoor or outdoor use. Durable and waterproof, this accessory provides effective protection for cooking devices against:
- dust;
- weather conditions;
- variations in ambient temperature;
- frost;
- ultraviolet rays.
When purchasing a cover for plancha and barbecue, it is possible to choose between four materials. Polyester showcases excellent resistance to abrasions and impacts. This material is also appreciated for its easy maintenance. Some protection cover models are coated with polyurethane:
- preventing the penetration and absorption of water droplets by the fabric;
- allowing air to circulate freely, thus avoiding the appearance of mold and the formation of rust.
PEVA protection tarps stand out for their robustness. This material is eco-friendly, as it is free of chlorine and easily recyclable. Oilcloth covers are recommended in periods of extreme cold. Indeed, besides their waterproofness, they ensure excellent insulation.
Equipped with a PVC structure, honeycomb covers are particularly suitable for medium-sized planchas and barbecues. They appeal for their waterproofness and lightness. However, PVC fibers do not retain 100% of water droplets in case of heavy rain.
The choice of a protective cover also depends on the size of the plancha and barbecue. Thus, dimensions vary from one model to another:
- length: 45 to 170 cm;
- depth: 35 to 190 cm;
- height: 57 to 253 cm;
- diameter: 47 to 90 cm.
In terms of shape, the covers are round or rectangular. Their fastening is ensured by a zip closure or a drawstring.
Finally, one must not neglect the ease of maintenance and installation of the protective tarp.
