DAIKIN

Daikin is a leading manufacturer of cooling systems, heat pumps and air conditioners. The company was founded in 1924 by Akira Yamada under the name Osaka Kinzoku Kogyosho in Osaka, and specialised in radiators for aircraft engines. Yamada quickly developed his own fluorine-based coolant products. In 1934, the first refrigerator coolant came out, called Mifujirator. And in 1958, it was the first reversible air conditioning on the international market that enabled Daikin to make its mark in Japan as well as on the European markets. Daikin manufactures in Belgium and the Czech Republic for its domestic, professional and industrial customers. In 2013, just before its 90th anniversary, Daikin received several awards for its URUSARA 7 range of home air conditioners: the Japanese Prime Minister's Award for Engineering Excellence, a Grand Prize for Energy Performance and a Red Dot Design Award.
