Home lighting is an essential element of decoration while ensuring the comfort of its occupants. The E27 LED bulbs are the most widespread and varied to light each room according to the desired ambiance.
An E27 LED bulb is recognized by its screw base adapted to the E27 socket. It’s the most used socket type for domestic lighting. Different shapes of E27 LED bulbs are available, including the classic balloon shape, but also E27 LED bulbs in pear shape, E27 LED candle bulbs, E27 LED globe bulbs, and the E27 LED stick or tube which resemble traditional bulbs.
Using LED technology, these bulbs have a long lifespan and offer better light efficiency. As a result, they consume very little energy compared to halogen incandescent lamps and last longer.
The power of the LED E27 lamp is a crucial choice criterion. It ranges between 2 and 20 W, which is very low compared to that of a halogen lamp. It's worth noting that the equivalent power of a halogen bulb is often mentioned on an LED lamp. Thus, it's common to see on an E27 LED of 2 W the inscription 2 W = 20 W to indicate the equivalent power of the halogen lamp.
Another important criterion to consider when choosing an E27 LED lamp is the shade of white or color temperature. This index is expressed in Kelvin degrees and is chosen according to the ambiance:
- a temperature between 2,000 and 3,000 °K is said to be warm and gives a yellow color nuance for a cozy and comfortable ambiance in the bedroom, bathroom, and living room;
- a temperature between 3,000 and 4,500 °K is considered neutral with a white light ideal for workspaces and the kitchen;
- a temperature above 5,000 °K is said to be cold and intensely lights up hallways, stairs, cellars, or outdoor space;
some models of E27 LED bulbs are also dimmable and can be used with a light dimmer or a remote control to adjust the light intensity according to the desired ambiance.
With its varied shapes suiting all tastes and desires, the E27 LED bulb constitutes an aesthetic and economical choice for domestic lighting.
