A light bulb socket adapter is an electrical accessory used to change the socket of a light bulb so it can be compatible with the socket of a lamp. Thanks to a socket adapter, it becomes possible to use components together that do not have the same specifications. This allows for savings since using an adapter avoids having to completely change equipment.
The light bulb socket adapter typically has a cylindrical shape with a prismatic tendency. The diameter of the visible top of the cylinder is more restricted than that of the base. The overall shape of the device resembles a bell. The interior is made of metal to conduct electricity and is equipped with a screw thread to fit the base of a light bulb. The connection of the base with the adapter is made by simple assembly followed by a few rotations in the direction of the screw thread. This accessory, the light bulb socket adapter, is used for example to adapt a bulb equipped with an E27 base to an E14 socket reference. As a notable advantage, the use of a socket adapter maintains the same performance as when using devices of the same reference. The power of the light emitted remains exactly the same as that indicated on the lamp. There is a wide variety of models of light bulb socket adapters as well as several reference brands.
