You are here on our page dedicated to hoes. Different references are available, at the best market prices. These tools from big brands present different characteristics (length of the handle, size of the head, ergonomic shape or not) and from different brands: REVEX, VERVE, LEBORGNE,...
The hoe - also called cultivator, weed hook, scraping hoe or Dutch hoe, depending on the region – is a tool used in agriculture and gardening, for hoeing and weeding. These somewhat strange terms actually refer to the action of loosening the top layer of the soil to enhance water absorption and to remove weeds. Moreover, an old saying goes: "a good hoeing is worth two waterings". On this page, you will find our selection of hoes, inexpensive yet from big brands: REVEX, VERVE, LEBORGNE,… To help you sort and choose, here is a brief description of the important attributes of a hoe that can vary.
Firstly, the head of the hoe can have different dimensions. The wider it is, the larger the area covered in one go, allowing you to work faster. On the other hand, a narrower head is lighter, making it easier and less tiring to use.
Next comes the length of the handle. If it is longer, it will give you more reach, allowing you to work more quickly. Conversely, a shorter handle will give you more precision in your movements (so, pay attention to the length of the tool). Moreover, some come with special coatings for a better grip, or even an ergonomic shape, designed to maximize the comfort of use of the tool. Regarding the handle, some references will be delivered without. Pay attention to this criterion. If the model you are interested in comes without one, have a look in our category dedicated to handles for garden tools.
To conclude, we would simply say that when gardening, it is recommended to wear protective gloves, as well as reinforced shoes to prevent any accidents, even minor ones.
