The protective fleece safeguards the pond liner from damage caused by rocky substrates, burrowing animals, and root growth from trees and shrubs. For enhanced protection, it is advisable to use the fleece over the pond liner as well, preventing potential damage from swimming activities or high water pressure acting on sharp stones submerged in water.
