Product information

Description

1) Reliable protection against overcurrents (without residual current protection): This 1P 32 A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) is designed to protect electrical circuits in the event of overload (heating due to excessive consumption) and short circuit (sudden fault). It quickly cuts the power supply in order to limit the risks of burnt cables, damage to appliances or fire starting. Please note: non-residual current version, it does not protect against current leakage or the risk of electric shock. For personal protection (wet areas, outdoors, portable tools, etc.), it is recommended to add a residual current device (RCD/RCCB) upstream or to opt for a circuit breaker with residual current function.2) Features suited to domestic and light commercial installations: 1P format (single pole), intended for the protection of a single-phase circuit (generally the live). The 32 A rating is suitable for circuits requiring more current (depending on cable sizing and the power actually used), for example certain dedicated socket circuits, small equipment, air conditioning/heating. AC operating range 220/230 to 400 V, frequency 50–60 Hz, usable in most common configurations, including certain cases in a three-phase network where a single-pole outgoing circuit is protected.3) C tripping curve: balance between safety and continuity of service: The C curve better tolerates inrush currents at start-up (motors, compressors, transformers, power supplies), reducing nuisance tripping while ensuring correct protection against overcurrents. A versatile choice for many distribution board outgoing circuits, in homes as well as small shops, for a good compromise between operating stability and responsiveness in the event of a fault.4) 6 kA breaking capacity and EN 60898‑1 compliance: 6 kA breaking capacity, sized to safely interrupt high short-circuit currents in most standard domestic and commercial environments. Complies with EN 60898‑1, the European reference standard for circuit breakers intended for domestic and similar installations, defining requirements for tripping performance, electrical endurance and safety in use.5) Simple installation on a modular board, selection advice and safety: Compact design for board mounting, installation on DIN rail, clear ON/OFF operation, easy resetting after tripping. The 32 A rating must be consistent with the conductor cross-section and the circuit: a circuit breaker rated too high in relation to the cable may allow the cable to heat dangerously before tripping. In practice, a 1P generally protects the live; if the installation requires simultaneous disconnection of live + neutral, choose 1P+N or 2P. Any work in a board must be carried out with the power off, with correct terminal tightening to avoid overheating, ideally by a qualified electrician.
