Description
The boost pressure relief valve (BOV) is a pressure relief device on the intake manifold, designed to prevent the turbocharger compressor from surging. Its operation relies on an intelligent system that combines the intake manifold pressure signal and the force of a spring to detect when the throttle valves close. When the accelerator is suddenly released, the valve opens immediately to vent excess pressure from the intake system to the atmosphere. This rapid action relieves pressure and eliminates any risk of surging, a phenomenon that, over time, could damage the turbocharger's thrust bearings due to the extreme loads generated. This BOV is distinguished by its performance and robustness. It is equipped with a dual-spring system that optimizes opening responsiveness and allows it to withstand boost levels of up to 30 PSI. For maximum airflow, it incorporates a 40 mm valve with a hard anodized finish. Its installation is simplified by a 2-bolt design. A feature appreciated by enthusiasts is its distinctive sound. Featuring 8 blow-off ports, it draws in ambient air to produce a powerful and aggressive exhaust sound typical of JDM racing. The complete kit you will receive includes everything needed for a full installation: 1 blow-off valve, 1 hose, 1 flange pipe, 1 flange interface, 1 gasket, 4 hose clamps, 2 nuts, 2 screws, and 2 mounting brackets. **Product Details:** **Item Type:** Blow-Off Valve **Material:** Aluminum **Compatible OEM Part Numbers:** SDD-BOVGRSBL, FPG250 **Flange Pipe Diameter:** Approximately 2.5 inches / 6.4 cm **Applications:** Compatible with exhaust pipe flanges TYPE-S and TYPE-RS.
