Locksmithing is a complex expertise, it's not easy to discern which lock is ideal or just compatible with our furniture.
The first step in the choice is to define why you want to lock your furniture.
If the goal is to prevent a third party from accessing valuable goods or documents inside, then it's preferable to choose pin tumbler, lever, or wafer locks with a sliding bolt (a metal rectangle that lodges in the strike plate to block the opening).
