Description
stepper motor is an electromagnetic device that moves in single steps. It consists of several coils; magnets are mounted on the central shaft. The coils surrounding the shaft are alternately energized or de-energized. This creates magnetic fields that attract or repel the magnets on the shaft, thus causing the motor to rotate. This unipolar stepper motor 28-BYJ48 comes with five wires and four coils. The center terminals of the coils are connected together and typically serve as the power connection. They are called unipolar stepper motors because the current is always applied to this terminal. A four-phase LED (A, B, C, D) indicates the operating status of the stepper motor. The stepper motor has a standard interface and simply plugs in.
