Good so far, but not sure about durability
Good machine so far, except that the bag mechanism (a wire support) broke after a couple of uses. This has reminded me to contact the seller to get a replacement bag if possible! The lever to pull up the handle that alllows sanding close to skirting boards for instance has to be pulled very hard to operate it, but it is a quite flimsy plastic lever so I fear this won't stand too much use. Solid performance
I bought this Lumberjack machine to replace my previous belt sander which gave up the ghost. It appears solidly built and is certainly quite heavy. The instructions are not great and it took me ages to work out that the front handle is adjusted with a lever cam. The lead is longer than for many hand held power tools, avoiding the need for an extension lead as much as can be the case. In use on a 75mm timber joist abutting chipboard flooring, the belt did slip to the open side at first but was quite easy to adjust. Unlike my previous machine, it looks as if it should be less likely to cut into the plastic body as it has a (hard but lubricated?) insert to prevent it slipping too far that way. Overall, an encouragingly solid performance so far and distinctly better than my previous belt sander. Read more

Good quality- certainly recommended
Fairly heavyweight so best used on flat surface rather than on vertical faces. Great for stripping off years of flakey paint or robust sanding jobs. Easy to change belts although instructions didn't help. Not ideal for corner work because sanding belt is narrower than the drive belt it sits on. Bit of a pain, actually! Dust bag collected loads but by no means all, the rest either blowing on the wind or in my hair. Impossible to find 180 grade sand belt- that may be my impatient web search. All in all, I suspect you would have to do a lot of searching to find better value for your money Read more
