Planting Instructions
Important Note : For pot planting, do not sow all seeds at once. Plant about one-third at a time. Unused seeds should be stored in a cool, dry place and can be sown any time of the year.
Sowing Tips :
-
Soil : Preferably use nutrient-rich potting soil, peat, or seed blocks. Avoid yellow, clayey, or compacted soil, as it does not promote germination.
-
Temperature : Sow when day/night temperature is above 18 °C. Low temperatures slow germination. After sowing, cover to maintain warmth and humidity. Germination is fastest between 21 and 30 °C.
-
Moisture : Keep the soil moist throughout the germination period. Seeds only germinate in moist soil. After sprouts appear, water moderately: not too much, not too little.
Pot Planting – Detailed Steps :
-
Pot Preparation : Fill the pot 70–80 % with nutrient-rich soil and water thoroughly.
-
Sowing : Evenly spread the seeds on the soil surface. Cover with a thin layer of soil, just enough to hide them, and lightly press with your hand.
-
Watering : Use a spray bottle to moisten the soil without displacing the seeds.
-
Sowing Period : Place the pot in a bright, airy spot, protected from direct sunlight. Spray regularly before germination to keep the soil moist.
-
Germination : Once sprouts appear, expose them to about 2 hours of diffused light per day in an 18–28 °C environment.
-
Growth Period : Gradually increase light exposure. Water alternating between dry soil and thorough watering. Apply light fertilizer every 7–10 days: nitrogen at the beginning for stem and leaf growth, phosphorus and potassium later to stimulate flowering and seed production.
Additional Tip : Using imported peat or seed blocks promotes germination. Garden soil is not recommended.
