Product information

Description

1) Reliable protection for three-phase circuits – 3P 50 ACe miniature circuit breaker (MCB) 3 poles (3P) is designed for the protection of three-phase installations or circuits requiring simultaneous disconnection of the three conductors. With a 50 A rating, it effectively secures power outgoing circuits in electrical panels (distribution board, control cabinet, industrial enclosure) by limiting the risks linked to overcurrents: cable overheating, premature ageing of equipment, damage to motors or switchgear. In the event of a fault, it trips quickly in order to isolate the circuit concerned and to facilitate diagnosis and recommissioning under good conditions.2) C tripping curve: suited to standard loads and motorsFitted with a C curve, this circuit breaker is particularly suitable for the most common “field” uses: outgoing circuits supplying motors, pumps, fans, compressors, transformers, switched-mode power supplies, lighting with drivers, etc. The C curve offers a good compromise between tolerance to inrush currents (start-ups) and responsiveness in the event of a genuine overcurrent, which reduces nuisance tripping while maintaining a consistent level of protection for most low-voltage installations. For very high inrush currents, a study may be necessary in order to validate the choice of curve and rating.3) 6 kA breaking capacity: safety in the event of a short circuitWith a breaking capacity of 6 kA, this MCB is capable of interrupting a significant short-circuit current in many standard distribution configurations (commercial buildings, shops, workshops, outgoing panel circuits). This capacity helps to protect conductors and equipment by limiting thermal and electrodynamic stresses during a fault. For installations located near a source with high short-circuit power (e.g. outgoing circuit close to transformer), it is recommended to check the prospective short-circuit current and to adapt the breaking capacity if necessary.4) Without residual current protection: to be paired if personal protection is requiredThis product is a thermal-magnetic circuit breaker without residual current function (no protection against earth leakage current/indirect contact). It therefore provides protection against overloads and short circuits, but does not replace a residual current device (RCD/RCCB/RCBO). In environments where personal protection is a priority (damp premises, socket circuits, accessible equipment, risk areas), it is advisable to install upstream or on the same outgoing circuit a suitable residual current switch, together with compliant earthing. This approach makes it possible to combine protection of property (MCB) and protection of people (residual current device).5) Main characteristics – Euro compatibility (EN 60898-1)Compliant with EN 60898-1, this circuit breaker is intended for low-voltage AC 230–400 V networks, frequency 50/60 Hz. Its 3P configuration is ideal for three-phase circuits requiring common operation, improving operating consistency (prevents one phase remaining live while another is disconnected). Recommendations for use: choose the 50 A rating according to conductor sizing, the temperature in the panel and the type of load; comply with connection rules and terminal tightening to avoid overheating; in the event of repeated tripping, look for the cause (overload, insulation fault, short circuit) rather than reclosing without diagnosis. This model therefore constitutes a practical choice for the protection of power outgoing circuits in a panel, when residual current protection is provided by another device.
