Description
1) Reliable protection for three-phase circuits (3P) – without residual current functionThis 3-pole (3P) miniature circuit breaker (MCB) is designed to effectively protect circuits against overloads and short circuits in an electrical distribution board, a control cabinet or the power supply input of a piece of equipment. It ensures rapid automatic disconnection as soon as a current fault occurs, limiting conductor overheating and material damage.Warning: this is a model without protection against current leakage (non-residual current). It therefore does not replace an RCD/RCCB device (residual current switch or circuit breaker) intended to protect people against indirect contact. For an installation compliant with safety requirements where there are risks of earth leakage (humid environments, accessible sockets, outdoor circuits, handled appliances), it is recommended to add a suitable residual current device upstream or to choose a version with integrated residual current protection.2) 6 A rating: ideal for control circuits and low-power applicationsWith a rated current In = 6 A, this circuit breaker is particularly relevant for low-consumption circuits: contactor controls, coils, automation systems, instrumentation, small auxiliaries, power supply for control modules, etc. It allows finer management of outgoing circuits by protecting branches where current needs to be strictly limited. On the other hand, for typical domestic uses (multiple sockets, heating appliances, tools, heavy loads), 6 A may prove too low and cause tripping during normal operation. Before ordering, it is advisable to check the actual current of the circuit, the cable cross-section, the ambient temperature and the heat dissipation conditions in the enclosure, in order to choose the most appropriate rating and avoid overly tight sizing.3) C tripping curve: a good compromise for standard loads with moderate inrush currentThe C curve is often selected for final distribution because it offers good tolerance to inrush (start-up) currents while remaining highly responsive in the event of a short circuit. It is generally suitable for usual loads such as lighting, certain dedicated socket circuits, small power supplies, control transformers, or equipment likely to present a start-up peak.Compared with a B curve (more sensitive), the C curve reduces the risk of nuisance tripping during repeated energising, without compromising the protection function in the event of a clear fault. This choice is therefore appreciated in machine enclosures and control boards where stable operation is sought, especially when several components start up simultaneously.4) European electrical characteristics: 230–400 V AC, 50/60 Hz, 6 kA breaking capacityThis circuit breaker is rated for use at AC 230–400 V and a frequency of 50/60 Hz, covering the majority of single-phase and three-phase networks found in residential, commercial or light industrial environments (depending on the wiring scheme). Its 6 kA breaking capacity (short-circuit breaking capacity) contributes to robust protection of downstream outgoing circuits in standard installations. However, it remains essential to check the suitability between the circuit breaker breaking capacity and the prospective short-circuit current at the installation point, particularly near a strong source, such as a transformer. In case of doubt, an electrician will be able to confirm compatibility with the selectivity/coordination study and the expected fault level.5) EN 60898-1 compliance and installation recommendations (distribution board/enclosure use)Compliant with EN 60898-1, this MCB fits into a common European selection and replacement approach for modular circuit breakers intended for distribution boards. It is suitable for applications where there is a need to disconnect three conductors simultaneously (3P), typically in three-phase, or in architectures requiring grouped disconnection. To ensure safety and reliability: installation by a qualified professional, power supply disconnected before intervention, correct tightening of terminals (poor tightening may cause overheating), wiring check and operation test after energising. Finally, keep the key point in mind: this product protects against overcurrents (overload/short circuit) but does not protect against current leakage; if personal protection is required, provide an appropriate residual current device in the installation.
