Inflate only with a hand pump to avoid over-inflation. Not approved for road use. Common causes of tire damage: A single puncture or small hole is usually caused by a thorn, wire, or small nail. These can be repaired. Check the tire for thorns, etc., and remove them if necessary. Double punctures are usually caused by a rim clamp. The inner tube has been pinched between the rim and an object on the road/path. Increase the air pressure or use wider tires. A tire blowout causes a large, jagged hole. These are usually irreparable. Also check the tires and rims for damage. A cut or a long tear can also indicate a tire blowout. This, too, is usually irreparable. Proceed carefully when mounting the tire. Before mounting: Inspect the tread for nails, shards of glass, thorns, or other protruding objects. Visually inspect the inside of the casing for nails, shards of glass, or dirt. Clean the inside of the casing with a cloth and then carefully feel it with your fingers. Be careful when using a tire lever. A tire lever can easily damage the inner tube. Check both sides of the tire for proper bead seating and signs of inner tube damage. Remount the tire if necessary. How do I check for a puncture? Check for air loss by holding the inner tube close to your lips or near your ear. Move the tube along its circumference. If these steps do not help, immerse the hose in water and check if air bubbles form in the hole.
