Description

Material

Steel offers the lowest price tag compared to other materials, but it also provides the most diversity in terms of style. Steel is malleable, allowing radiators to be designed efficiently to transfer heat from the water inside to the surrounding space (this is the radiator’s job, despite some thinking it stores heat). The heat output is excellent — steel is the most common radiator material for good reason. It’s also highly durable, which is important as radiators can take knocks and bumps over time, so you want one that lasts.

Columns

“Column” refers to the radiator’s style, and the number in front (e.g., “3 Column”) indicates the number of vertical tubes in each section. These tubes are connected at the top and bottom. A 3 column (also called triple column) radiator has three vertical tubes per section. Compared to slimmer 2 column models, the 3 column offers greater depth and heat output, making it ideal for heating larger rooms effectively.

Colour

Anthracite is a high-end variety of coal noted for the purity of its carbon and the dark grey smoke it emits when burning. It’s also one of our customers’ most popular picks for a modern-looking radiator that looks as good as it functions. The smoky matt finish you achieve with this colour is quite unlike any other and produces a stylish effect with even the most minimalist design. As we become more conscious of our surroundings, tastes shift from the functional and the merely decorative to something combining qualities of both, and anthracite radiators certainly tick all of the boxes.

Heat Source

This central heating or hot water radiator connects directly to your home’s central heating system. Whether you have a Combi boiler, gravity-fed (conventional) system, or a system with a cylinder, this radiator can be installed to provide reliable heat.

Accessories

This radiator has G1/2” connections on either side at the bottom, so the valves you need will depend on your pipework (valves are not included):

  • For pipework coming from the wall to the radiator’s side, use corner valves.

  • For pipework coming from the floor up to the radiator’s side, use angled valves.

  • For pipework running along the wall to the radiator’s side, use straight valves.

Wall mounting brackets are included. Column radiator feet aren’t necessary but can enhance the traditional look. If desired, you can use the feet alongside wall brackets to better support the radiator’s weight. Alternatively, skip the wall brackets and install wall stays in matching or contrasting colours.

Valve options include:

  • Manual Valves: Easy on/off control by hand, ideal if the radiator is in the same room as your main boiler thermostat (to avoid temperature conflicts).

  • Thermostatic Radiator Valves (TRVs): Allow individual temperature control, saving energy and money by shutting off water flow when the desired room temperature is reached. Best used in rooms without the main boiler thermostat.
