The dutch oven is a heavy, traditional, cast iron pan and a lid that fits exactly with it, so you can cook, roast, braise, deep-fry, steam and bake anywhere. No matter whether it is a fireplace, barbecue or campfire, it is mobile and flexible. Thanks to its high mass (cast iron), the dutch oven cooking pot regulates irregular heat and thus enables consistent cooking. Simply place glowing coals, embers or barbecue briquettes on the lid and under the pot and the dutch oven experience can begin.

If you turn the lid around, you can use it as a grill pan or serving pan! With the thermometer feed-through you can very practically check the temperature without having to lift the lid.

Information on seasoning
The dutch ovens from BBQ-Toro are already pre-seasoned and can be used immediately. If it is necessary to season them again, clean the pot with hot water. Then rub it with tasteless, vegetable fat (e.g., coconut oil). Place the dutch oven upside down in the stove (or ideally outside in a hot kettle grill) for one hour at 200°C. Rub in any remaining fat. That´s it. Repeat this treatment regularly so that the pores fill up and the pot is optimally protected against rust.
Information on cleaning/care
Hot water is sufficient for cleaning - scrub larger food residues with a brush. Never use soap or strong detergents. These destroy the layer of fat and the pot must then be re-seasoned (see above). Do not store food leftovers in the dutch oven. Remove ashes immediately after using the lid and pot, as this can lead to rust in combination with moisture.

Information on storage
Cover with good cooking oil, place a sheet of kitchen paper inside and do not close the lid completely. In this way the dutch oven can easily be stored for longer periods of time.
