Description
Features:
EXBA18V-40 with high power in most compact design combined with EXBA18V-80 with extreme runtime and maximum power
Up to 120% more runtime than the Professional GBA 18V 4.0Ah
EXBA18V-40 with high power up to 2000W (based on internal test lab data, instantaneous maximum power, fully charged, new battery) and EXBA18V-80 with extreme runtime plus maximum power
High-power tabless cells: Less inner resistance for maximum power up to 2400 W (EXBA18V-80, based on internal test lab data; instantaneous maximum power with fully charged, new battery) outstanding energy density (EXBA18V-40)
Long lifetime: Robust design, reinforced housing and outstanding heat management with COOLPACK 2.0 and tabless cell technology
One battery fits all: Compatible with the Bosch Professional 18V System and the multi-brand battery alliance AMPShare
The EXBA18V-40 high-power Expert battery delivers up to 2000W maximum power for demanding applications (based on internal lab testing; instantaneous maximum power with a fully charged new battery) in the most compact design. The EXBA18V-80 high-power Expert battery provides up to 120% more runtime, ensuring exceptional continuous work even with tough applications (vs. Professional GBA 18V 4.0Ah; internal test lab data; grinding on mild steel with GWS 18V-15 S + flap disk, 30 s intervals with 5 s breaks). Both use advanced tabless cell technology whereas conventional batteries come with multi-tab cells that use only two tabs as current paths. This creates a bottleneck that adds to the resistance of the battery. Tabless cell technology opens this bottleneck. Instead of only two current paths, it offers countless parallel current paths. The result: less resistance, less heat, extreme runtime and maximum power. With its reinforced robust housing, excellent thermal management with COOLPACK 2.0 and tabless cell technology, the EXBA18V-80 offers long lifetime and is therefore ideal for professionals who rely on durability and performance.
The EXBA18V-80 has an extended charging temperature range from -10°C to +55°C battery temperature when used with EXAL18V2-320 and EXAL18V-160. It comes with a 5-LED indicator that displays state of charge with remaining capacity and defect risk detection. Compatible with the Bosch Professional 18V System and the multi-brand battery alliance AMPShare.
The EXBA18V-40 can be fully charged in just 30 minutes with the EXAL18V2-320 or EXAL18V-160 and weighs only 605g. The EXBA18V-80 takes 39 minutes to charge fully and its weight is 1.04kg.

Power tool battery buying guide
Power tool batteries work using lithium-ion, nickel cadmium or nickel metal hydride technology. But all types of battery differ in terms of voltage (12, 14.4 or 18V) and capacity (1.2 or 3 Ah) which dictate the strength and life of your battery. Read on to find the right type of battery for your cordless power tool!
In 1886, Robert Bosch, a 25-year-old German engineer, founded an electrical engineering company in Stuttgart. He was returning from a long professional trip to the United States that had led him to work for Thomas Edison, one of the greatest engineers in history. Bosch improved the ignition magnet the following year, to be the first to adapt it to a car engine. This innovation allowed him to develop his business at a steady pace. In the 1920s, he converted his company from automotive supplier to electronics manufacturer. The company has been able to distinguish itself from other brands of DIY power tools by aiming for long-term and high-end, from its famous green drill to complex products such as rippers or garden tools (sculpts -hays, chainsaws ...). This was the success we know. Bosch currently employs 280,000 people worldwide and generates 46 billion euros in sales. Bosch spends up to 10% of its turnover on R & D, a rare effort in the industry. 92% of the capital of Robert Bosch GmbH is held by a charitable foundation Robert Bosch Stiftung GmbH. Thus the profits of the company are donated to this foundation. The remaining 8% of capital is held by the descendants of Robert Bosch's family.
