Product information

Description

The V310 OBD II/EOBD barcode reader is designed for all OBD II compliant vehicles, including those equipped with the next-generation Control Area Network (CASN) protocol. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requires that all vehicles and light trucks sold in the U.S. in 1996, updated vehicles (cars), must be OBD II compliant. This includes all domestic, Asian, and European vehicles. A small number of 1994 and 1995 gasoline vehicles are OBD II compliant. To check if a 1994 or 1995 vehicle is OBD II compliant, check the vehicle's emissions. The Vehicle Emission Control Information (VECI) label is located under the hood or next to the radiator on most vehicles. If the vehicle is OBD II compliant, the label will indicate OBD II Certification. Furthermore, government regulations require all OBD II compliant vehicles to be equipped with a 16-pin "universal" Data Link Connector (DLC).

For your vehicle to be OBD II compliant, there must be a 16-pin DLC (Data Link Connector) under the dashboard, and the vehicle's emissions control information label must indicate that the vehicle is OBD II compliant.
