Activated carbon block insert
The activated carbon block filter cartridge fits all reverse osmosis systems with a 10″ filter housing. In fact, this cartridge removes from drinking water: ozone, pesticides, rust, limescale particles, chlorine. Activated carbon is characterized by its high efficiency and is particularly useful in the industrial sector. The water used there is first treated with activated carbon before it ends up in our food. This is because activated carbon has proven itself in the reliable filtration of the majority of toxins.
Cartridge life
In a household of four people, a cartridge generally guarantees a life of around nine months with average water consumption. After this period, the cartridge will no longer be able to adsorb the toxic substances mentioned above. However, the regulations impose other deadlines for replacing these cartridges. According to DIN 1988, it is prescribed that all cartridges must be replaced every six months, otherwise they risk being contaminated with germs.
The difference to other activated carbon cartridges
These cartridges are also called activated carbon blocks and are used in osmosis filtration systems, alongside post-activated carbon filters and filter cartridges with granulated activated carbon.
