The device emits a laser dot that is reflected by the adhesive tape or a suitable reflective surface. The sensor in the tachometer detects the pulses and performs the measurement. Open the battery compartment with a screwdriver and insert a 9V battery. Cut a piece of reflective tape and stick it to the object to be measured. Press the "MEAS" button to align the reflective tape with the laser. Place the adapter on the device. Point the laser at the axis of the object to be measured; the data will be displayed on the LCD screen. Measurement types: Rotational speed (rpm), counter-rotation (rpm), frequency (Hz), surface speed (m/min, in/min, ft/min, yd/min), and length (meters, inches, feet, yards). The digital tachometer can be used in fields such as motors, fans, paper manufacturing, the plastics industry, chemical fibers, washing machines, automotive manufacturing, etc. It is commonly used to measure the rotational speed of motors, drills, lathes, cars, fans, and washing machines. It can also measure the circumferential speed of conveyor belts. Before use, you can test it on powered motors. The size of the laser dot typically decreases when the device is held close to the object being measured, resulting in a more accurate measurement. The reflective tape ensures good contrast between the background and the measuring area. However, if the object being measured has other reflective surfaces such as shiny metal, please use non-reflective (black or dark) adhesive tape. When the reflective tape runs out, it can easily be replaced with white paint.
