Product information

Description

This DIY aeronautical radio receiver kit is designed to pick up communications between aircraft and air traffic control towers. Equipped with a high-performance VHF antenna, it can receive calls between various types of aircraft and towers within a range of approximately 190 km in open air. It incorporates a bandpass filter, a high-level 3355 amplifier, a NE602 mixer, and an MC1350 chip, enabling it to receive AM signals on the aeronautical band from 118 to 136 MHz. The inductor is printed directly onto the circuit board, greatly simplifying assembly. The board includes an AGC (automatic gain control) circuit for comfortable listening and prevents prolonged squelch noise. Powered by a 12V source, the PCB measures 9.2 cm x 7.5 cm. It can be housed in an aluminum chassis measuring 97 x 40 x 120 mm for end use.

Important Note: This is a self-assembly kit, not pre-assembled. Since VHF band propagation is linear, for optimal reception more than 25 km from an airport, the installation of a high-gain VHF antenna is recommended.

The presence of significant obstacles (buildings, mountains, etc.) between the reception location and the airport may affect reception. Package Contents: 1 x DIY Aircraft Radio Receiver Kit 1 x Circuit Diagram
