- a cable consisting of 2 wires (2G) or 3 wires (3G) with a section of 1.5 mm² can support an electric current of 16 A and 3,500 W;
- a cable consisting of 2 or 3 conductors with a minimum section of 2.5 mm² is recommended for powering powerful devices.
Some options may be useful for added safety and comfort:
- a light indicator allows the user to know whether the sockets are live or not to avoid accidents;
- a thermal fuse protects connected devices from potential overvoltage;
- fixed hub versions unroll and roll up without having to unplug devices;
- automatic models unroll and roll up without any user intervention;
- the presence of a multi-socket block at the end of the cable optimizes comfort when working in confined spaces.
The choice of an electric reel mainly depends on the user's needs, particularly the power of the devices to be connected to the sockets and the use (professional or domestic).
