Faure is a French company founded in Revin in the Ardennes by Antoine Théodore FAURE. In 1854, this young graduate of the Arts et Métiers school in Angers set up in the small village and soon after began manufacturing the first Faure stoves. Following cash flow problems, he mortgaged his factory and house to continue manufacturing his stoves. After several years of hard work, he managed to buy back his property and establish his stoves as a permanent fixture in the interior design market of the 20th century.
His son Henri joined him and took over the running of the company when his father died in 1891. He expanded the product catalogue to 1400 items, including stoves, ovens and cookers. He was succeeded by his four sons: Raymond, Pierre, Jean and Henri. Despite the wars, the company held firm, but was eventually bought by the Swedish group Electrolux in 1976 (founded in 1910).
Since then, Faure has diversified into household appliances (refrigerators, washing machines and dishwashers), while remaining true to its core business of cooking appliances, ovens, cookers, microwaves and decorative hoods, hats and drawers.
