Porous hose, micro-perforated hose, drip hose… We offer multiple solutions for your micro-irrigation watering needs. Drip irrigation is easy to install and will allow you to maintain your plants for less money. Not sure which product to buy? ManoMano explains everything to you on this page!
Micro-irrigation watering is the simplest irrigation system to install! All you need to do is let a suitable hose meander on the ground, directly at the base of your plants. Once connected to a tap, the water will accumulate in the hose which is closed at one end. It will then exit through the hose's membrane. These hoses are designed to operate at low pressure so that water slowly infiltrates the soil and ensures a constant watering.
The porous hoses are made of a permeable membrane that allows water to filter through at a more or less significant rate depending on the pressure, so it will flow directly onto the soil. ManoMano's gardening experts recommend this type of product for watering a hedge, a vegetable garden, or plants arranged in a row. Porous hoses are often black and when properly installed they are discreet and ensure quality watering. These products are designed to remain outside for a long duration and require very little maintenance. Some of our models can be used on the surface or buried. If you choose to install it underground, shallow trenches are enough. The water will then feed the plant directly at the root, optimizing irrigation!
The drip hoses are covered with numerous small holes at regular intervals that allow water to seep out gradually. Finally, the micro-perforated hoses work in the same way but provide a "rainwater effect" thanks to the smallness of their holes. These types of hoses are more suitable for watering a lawn. To maintain your hose, simply roll it up neatly or place it on a hose reel to keep it protected from the whims of the weather.
Thanks to micro-irrigation watering, the water does not attack the plant as it would with simple hose watering. This limits the risk of burns as well as exposure to diseases. Moreover, porous hoses only water the plant and not the weeds surrounding it! If you wish, you can automate the watering with a timer that will trigger the water flow at the time of your choice.
