- [Towing Tips]
- Whatever class of car you own, you will inevitably encounter problems while driving on the road. If the car breaks down on the road and cannot move forward, as long as there is no major problem with the steering or braking system, you can first find a car to tow it, then repair it.
- Attach one end of the tow rope to the front end of the rear axle steel plate of the front vehicle and the other end to the front overhang of the rear vehicle as close as possible to the center of the vehicle. The vehicles should be more than a few meters apart. Attach a handkerchief to the middle of the tow rope for identification. When towing, an experienced driver should drive the car behind, as the car behind is difficult to control. Slight negligence or improper operation can cause strain on the tow rope or the vehicle may fail to turn around, resulting in a collision. When the trailer starts moving, because it is carrying the weight of an additional car, the car in front must add more oil to increase the engine speed, then slowly release the clutch pedal to allow the tow rope to extend before starting. Control your speed while driving and do not drive at high speeds even if road conditions are good. When the vehicle in front of you shifts gears, the tow rope loosens. At this point, do not apply the brakes on the towed vehicle. Otherwise, when the vehicle in front of you refuels, the tow rope will suddenly tighten and be damaged. You can only brake gently when the rope reaches the ground.
- Downhill, if the slope is very long, you can detach the rope and let the two cars slide separately. If the slope isn't long, you can attach the rope downhill. You should brake easily, but the car behind can brake lightly and keep the rope taut.
- When stopping at an intersection, the vehicle in front must brake lightly several times to signal the vehicle behind, then the vehicle behind must brake to stop both vehicles. When turning, be careful to make a large circle and keep the rope as taut as possible to avoid any danger.
