**Capacitor Testing Instructions:**

1. Select the correct range based on the capacitor's capacitance.

2. After each test, discharge the capacitor by short-circuiting it with a wire before testing again.

3. Observe the correct polarity for electrolytic capacitors: the black lead (internal positive) on the + terminal of the capacitor, the red lead on the - terminal.

4. A good capacitor will cause the needle to deflect, which will then gradually return to the mechanical zero (infinite resistance).

5. The magnitude of the deflection depends on the capacitance and the selected range.

6. A faulty capacitor will not cause the needle to deflect at all.

7. Partially lost capacitance will result in an insufficient deflection compared to the standard.
