Installation Procedure: During installation, ensure the adapter is mounted directly onto the head (do not install any washers between the head and the adapter). Begin by using a 6.5 mm or 1/4" drill bit to complete the blind hole in the adapter. Next, install the cap and adapter onto the head. This will ensure proper hole alignment. After marking the drilling locations, remove the cap and adapter. Use masking tape or block the head to prevent anything from entering the internal chambers used for intake and coolant. Using a 5 mm or 13/64" drill bit (not included), drill through the head to a depth of at least 11 mm (the bolt depth) but no more than 14 mm. You can tape the drill bit to ensure you don't drill too deep. Once the hole is drilled, run the tap. Use an M6x1.0 tap and lubricating oil (both not included) and proceed slowly. Be careful not to tap too deeply. You can start with a standard tap to begin the thread, but use a bottom tap to finish the thread. This will allow the bolt to fully engage in most of the threaded hole. Begin tapping slowly on the head and frequently check the adapter fit.
