To ensure the flatness of a surface and facilitate the installation of tiles, it is sometimes necessary to make a preparation that involves laying ready-to-tile panels.
Tiling is an easy-to-maintain covering. It is suitable for both floors and walls. However, installation rules must be followed, notably the stability of the support and the absence of roughness. Therefore, the installation of ready-to-tile panels proves to be clever. This material is composed of polystyrene foam and a layer of polymer mortar. As such, it is lightweight and easy to cut. They can also be used as partitions to create an additional space. Using them is quite advantageous:
- they are lightweight and can be fixed on many supports. Cutting can be done with a cutter;
- they are strong and compensate for irregularities. Leveling is not necessarily required;
- they are waterproof and capable of ensuring thermal insulation. They are preferred in the bathroom to hide pipes or to cover a worn-out covering;
- their surface is designed to accommodate tiles or any other covering. If it is tiling, it is recommended to use a C2 type adhesive at least with double gluing. In other words, the adhesive is applied both on the panel and on the tile. For another type of covering, it is sufficient to apply an appropriate adhesive;
- they can be used to make furniture. In this case, the panels are glued together and possibly to the support using a polymer adhesive.
Thus, a tile preparation product can be useful in many areas of application. Whether in renovation or new construction, this material facilitates the installation of a covering.
