The assembly is easy enough with a screwdriver and 10mm spanner. I also used a long spirit level to ensure the table extensions were flat and in line with the table. Before the first use I checked the fence for square. unsurprisingly it wasn't. It just took a few minutes to align with my square. If you are doing any precision cutting you might need to modify your fence. The fence lock is strong enough, but can sometimes need a small adjustment to ensure it's square. Other than that it's great for general purpose cutting and is well worth the money. There are two problems that will require modifications. The blade guard is secured to the riving knife with a wing nut, this works well. However when making thin cuts, the wing nut gets in the way of the fence. You can just raise the blade so the wing nut clears the fence, but this then exposes more blade than you should really have above the surface of the wood. The second problem is the mitre gauge, which seems more of an afterthought. The rail doesn't fit snugly in the table slot and is free to move, reducing the accuracy. It's also too small. Despite a few minor flaws the saw has been great. So far it's given me nice clean cuts on pine, plywood and hardwood faced plywood. Dust extraction works well enough. It feels nice and stable in use. The blade height adjustment wheel is nice and smooth. The angle adjustment is okay. I'd have liked a larger stop button, but I'll probably get used to it the more I use it. I do like the switch though, as it resets to off if the saw is unplugged or loses power. It means you can't plug it in and have it whir into life unexpectedly. I'd happily recommend the saw to anyone looking for a budget table saw as long as they were happy to spend a little time setting it up and fine tuning it. It's perfect for my needs as a hobbyist woodworker and DIYer.
