Description
Makita BL1890 9.0Ah 18V LXT Lithium-Ion Battery Maximum Runtime. Built for Tough Jobs.
Take your Makita 18V tools to the next level with the BL1890 9.0Ah high-capacity battery — engineered for professionals who need longer working time between charges. By increasing the number of cells compared to the BL1860 (6.0Ah), this powerhouse delivers extended runtime across all cordless tools in the 18V LXT system.
Built to Withstand the Jobsite
Featuring a shock-absorbing structure inspired by Makita’s 40V Max XGT range, the BL1890 offers enhanced impact resistance, reducing the risk of damage from accidental drops and rough handling.
What are the benefits of the new ""Star"" Battery
The demanding applications you take on every day are also demanding on your cordless tools and batteries. You rely on your tools, so Makita created STAR Protection Computer Controls™. STAR Protection is communication technology that allows the tool and battery to monitor conditions and exchange data in real time to protect against Overloading, Over-Discharging and Over-heating. Look for Makita tools and batteries with the STAR and get these protection features.
OVERLOAD PROTECTION
High-drain applications require maximum battery power. Makita tools and batteries are engineered for industrial applications, but sustained peak demand can overload the tool. Makita’s STAR Protection Computer Controls™ allow the battery and tool to communicate and protect your tool and battery from overload by cutting power when put under abnormally high current draw.
OVER-DISCHARGE PROTECTION
Lithium-ion batteries are engineered for longer, sustained performance. But running a battery until it’s “dead” empty can damage the cells. Makita STAR Protection Computer Controls™ monitor battery charge capacity, and if the battery is too low to complete the application it will cut power in order to extend battery life.
OVER HEAT PROTECTION
Extreme heat should be avoided. It can make batteries charge slower, damage battery cells, and reduce battery life. Makita STAR Protection Computer Controls™ monitor battery heat during operation. If the battery reaches a certain level of heat it will cut power to the tool. Features:
Provides significantly longer run time, ideal for heavy-duty and professional use.
9.0Ah (very high capacity, longer runtime compared to BL1830 (3.0Ah), BL1850 (5.0Ah), BL1860 (6.0Ah))
85 minutes when using the Makita rapid charger with the added convenience of an LED charge level indicator.
STAR Protection Computer Controls™
Low self-discharge
Energy storage capacity for long run times
With overload, over discharge and overheating protection
Works with your current Li-ion Chargers. The DC18RD Dual port charger is capable of charging two Makita 18V batteries, simultaneously, and it will recharge both in the same time as with their actively cooled rapid charger.
The range of Makita machines utilising two 18v Lithium-Ion batteries to generate a mighty 36v of power is expanding quickly. Therefore the new twin-port fast charger that takes just 22 minutes to fully charge two 18v 3.0Ah batteries will prove invaluable. This new twin-port charger will charge two 4.0Ah batteries in 36 minutes.
With an LED charging display, and full charge audible alert, the Makita DC18RD fast charger has a forced cooling system for battery protection and a built-in electronic current limiter for overload protection.
*Warning - DO NOT USE the BL1890 (9Ah) or BL18120 (12Ah) batteries with the below listed machines : Model : DSP600 / DSP601 / DSS611
If the tool is accidentally dropped components may deform due to the weight of the battery, which may resuly in improper functioning of the low guard and cause serious injury.
Model : DSP600 / DSP601
The guard may not function properly due to the weight of the battery, resulting in serious personal injury.
Model : DCR200 / DCR300
The battery extends out of the housing, It may cause the machine to hit a wall or objects while automatic operation is being executed, this will result in damage to the wall or objects
