Introducing the Makita BL4040 (191B26-6) XGT 40v Max 4 Ah Li-ion battery. It is an exciting new addition to Makita impressive line up of cordless tools. This item is part of the new 40V MAX XGT range (Not to be confused with the 18V LXT Range). This battery has a handy LED indicator that displays how much charge the battery has left - so you know before, during and after your task whether you need to charge it or not. Everything in the XGT range include an impressive set of internal electronics, which allow much better communication with batteries, chargers and tools, so performace can be optimised and tools stand less chance of being overworked or quickly drained. Furthermore the all new charger will optimize the charging process specifically for the battery and it's current drain status.
Makita have also continued to develop industry leading charge times: The DC40RA fast charger, will charge this BL4040 battery in just 45minutes (from flat). Makita have a improved on the construction, and this battery (as well as tools and the charges) are better protected against dust and they have a splash-proof design.
