Description
The Makita XGT 40Vmax Li-ion Battery has been built to withstand harsh environmental conditions. It has a robust construction, protected against dust with a splash-proof design and an integrated cooling system for maximum durability. Equipped with an LED indicator which shows the remaining capacity of the battery.
The XGT 40Vmax range is equipped with special electronics providing digital communication between tool, battery and charger. This allows the charger to provide the optimal charge to the battery depending on the status of the battery, whilst the tool can respond to the status of the battery by optimising performance to the battery level.
The BL4040F is a high output battery, designed to produce a 35% increase in power versus the standard BL4040 4.0Ah battery. With tabless cell technology & enhanced cooling system, meaning that the battery runs cooler maintaining performance under continuous heavy load. Digital communication between the battery and the tool for an optimised performance. WetGuard/IPX4 water resistance - a 3-layer moisture protection shields the cells from water ingress. Heavy duty cell casing significantly improves the battery's impact resistance. Battery fuel gauge consisting of 4 green LEDs. Optimal charging system
The BL4040F uses cells with lower internal resistance. As a result, this battery can deliver high peak power (close to that of the BL4050F), will heat up less and autonomy is also better as energy loss during discharge is lower. This battery is particularly suitable for applications where high power is required but where the tool also needs to be as compact and light as possible, e.g. angle grinders, circular saws, rotary hammers and (top handle) chainsaws.
BL4040F - Innovative tabless technology for maximum efficiency
Exclusively available on the BL4040F these next-generation cells are designed with cutting-edge technology. Tabless lithium-ion cells remove the bottleneck allowing for a much more efficient method of power delivery. Tabless cells avoid current concentration by connecting the entire end of the electrode to the end of the cell instead of the tabs. This improves battery efficiency, thermal management and overall battery performance.
Under high load, the design of the cells helps ensure a lower cell temperature, which positively affects their service life. Due to the large polar area inside the cells, there is no bottleneck, which minimises heat generation and allows for more efficient energy use.
Additionally, the battery can be charged immediately after intense continuous use without requiring a cooling phase, leading to shorter charging times. The cells also experience less heat build-up during the charging process. An important feature for continuous use with two batteries.
Elevate your workday with the high-output 40V Max 4.0Ah battery – where power, durability, and innovation meet to redefine excellence in tool performance.
Features and Benefits:
Developed for charging XGT Li-ion batteries
Approx. 28 minutes to fully charge 2.5 Ah battery (BL4025) and 45 minutes to fully charge for 4.0 Ah battery (BL4040)
Compatible with interchangeable adaptor ADP10 for charging LXT Li-ion batteries
New raised and enlarged charging indicator status light for clearer indication
Selectable melody sound for full charge notification
Two cooling fans, one for the battery and one for the charging circuit
Able to perform consecutive fast charging of batteries
Can be wall mounted
The Makita DC40RA compact fast charger is specially developed for XGT 40v Max lithium-ion batteries, however with this ADP10 charging adapter, the charger is also suitable for fast charging LXT 14.4v and 18v LXT batteries.
The charger is also equipped with two fans: one for forced cooling of the battery and one for cooling the charging circuit. Combining these techniques prevents high temperatures in the battery and charger, extending the life of the battery and significantly accelerating the charging process. Result: an optimal loading system.
In combination with this ADP10 adaptor, 18v LXT batteries can be charged faster than with any current LXT fast chargers, when using the DC40RA. For example, a 5.0Ah or 6.0Ah 18v LXT battery is fully charged within 40 minutes, compared to 55 minutes with an LXT fast charger.
Makita ADP10 Charge times when used on LXT 18v batteries
For use with the DC40RA 40v XGT battery charger
Allows a DC40RA to charge 14.4v or 18v LXT batteries quicker than any existing LXT battery charger
Allows a DC40RA to fully charge a BL1840B 4.0Ah 18v LXT lithium-ion battery in only 29 minutes (approx.)
Allows a DC40RA to fully charge a BL1850B 5.0Ah 18v LXT lithium-ion battery in only 40 minutes (approx.)
