The Makita DTD173Z 18V Cordless Brushless Impact Driver is a compact and lightweight tool designed for efficient fastening tasks. Measuring just 111mm in length, it offers excellent balance and ease of use. The brushless motor delivers a maximum torque of 180 N·m, with a no-load speed up to 3,600 RPM and up to 3,800 impacts per minute, making it versatile for various applications. It features adjustable impact modes and a new working light with three brightness settings for enhanced visibility. The new built in ultra bright LED halo ring at the front of the impact driver also doubles up as a built in job light torch! If you move the forward / reverse trigger into the middle setting and then pull the trigger and the light will stay on for an hour! If you wish to turn the light off simply pull the trigger again. 

The slim design of this impact driver allows you to work in tight and awkward spaces, while the anti-wobbling bit holder, supported by two ball bearings in the anvil, ensures the driver bits remain true and straight for exceptional results.

The DTD173 offers four speed and power options, providing great flexibility for working with different materials to achieve precise results without damaging the workpiece. In addition to variable speed control, the impact driver includes an electric brake and a bright built-in job light for working in shadows or darker areas. The brushless motor at the core of this tool ensures efficient use of battery power while reducing the need for ongoing maintenance by minimizing heat generation and operating more efficiently. The DTD173Z replaces the DTD172Z
