Before EACH use, turn the timer knob clockwise one full turn, from 0 to 0, until the timer hand is aligned with the zero symbol. Turn the timer knob counterclockwise to the desired number of minutes. If you do not follow these two steps, the timer will not sound. The mechanical timer emits an 80-decibel alarm for 3 seconds + 30 milliseconds (test distance: 30 cm).
