This product looks great overall but there are a few surprises that aren’t too great. Firstly, the light comes in 6 sections, the base, the fitting (with twist) and then 4 pole sections and you have to screw it all together. When assembled it looks fine but I found a regularly need to give one section a little twist to tighten as floor vibrations as we walk seem to loosen it. I was disappointed the main shaft wasn’t in one piece. It’s easy to assemble albeit a bit fiddly. Second, the lampshade connection part has too big a diameter for a standard uk lampshade. I’ve managed to rest one on top of the fitting but it’s held in place only by the lamp bulb not the light and it’s screw mechanism. There’s a good long length of cable to the switch and then again to the light giving good flexibility of position further away from the socket, but the base isn’t designed to store the excess cable if it’s not required. Easily fixed if you know how to do some basic electrical wiring but I imagine it would invalidate a warranty so check your are happy and the light functions and connects together properly over time before actioning any self styled electric work. Overall I do rate this and like the look, the sectional design doesn’t greatly detract from the general aesthetic overall, but it’s not going to get 5 stars based on the diy design
