Whether it's a classic or a thermostat model, the mixer tap is the most common type of faucet in today's bathrooms. Mainly wall-mounted, mixer taps can also be deck-mounted or even column-mounted. Find our catalogue of mixer taps from brands (STERMAN, LAGGI etc.) at the lowest prices.
If you're here it's because you want to learn more about bath and bathtub mixers, isn't it?
Our catalogue divides this category into classic and thermostat mixers. But what exactly is the difference between these two faucets?
The classic mixers have only a simple lever. This lever, usually made of metal, allows to control both the flow and the temperature of the water. A vertical turn increases the flow while a horizontal shift controls the temperature. These have gradually replaced the rustic bath mixers. Capable of being equipped with a noise reducer, a flow limiter, a water-saving system (like STERMAN's Ecostop), a temperature limiter (such as Thermostop) or even non-return and anti-pollution valves, the mixer tap is a technologically very advanced faucet.
More modern through their internal components, they also are by their exterior appearance. Usually two-hole, the most daring designers have invented single-hole, three-hole, or even four-hole models for an ever more exaggerated style. There is something for everyone in fact: from the modern mixer tap, with a pure and refined look, to the faucet revisited in an old regime or Victorian era style. There's even a mixer in SOLID gold (which we unfortunately do not have in stock!).
The thermostatic mixers are a more recent version of faucet. They represent the high end of sanitary fittings. Why?
Largely because they allow for an ultra-precise selection of water temperature. Thanks to its left lever, the user can set a specific temperature. The faucet's microprocessor does the rest and regulates hot and cold water accordingly, to guarantee its user water output that matches their wishes. Thanks to a safety button, also called a temperature limiter, the safety of children and the most vulnerable among us is ensured.
They have often been advised against for users with instant gas water heaters. Yet, models specifically designed for this purpose do exist.
