Product information

Description

1) Reliable circuit protection: overload and short-circuitThis 1P 25 A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) secures domestic or commercial electrical installations by providing effective protection against overloads and short circuits. In the event of prolonged overcurrent, thermal tripping limits conductor heating and reduces the risk of premature cable ageing, damage to appliances or electrical incidents. In the event of a short circuit, magnetic tripping acts quickly to cut off the power supply and prevent damage linked to a suddenly high current. Its compact format is suitable for neat integration into a distribution board or control cabinet, for an organised installation and easy identification of outgoing circuits.2) 1P (single-pole) format: ideal for single-phase circuitsWith its 1-pole (1P) configuration, this circuit breaker protects one phase conductor in single-phase networks, typically used in homes and small commercial premises. It is suitable for lighting circuits, dedicated socket circuits as well as certain outgoing circuits for moderate-power single-phase equipment. The 25 A rating must be chosen in line with the cable cross-section, installation method, ambient temperature and the nature of the loads. A rating that is too high compared with the wiring may allow the line to overheat without tripping: selection must remain in accordance with good installation practice.3) C tripping curve: versatility and better tolerance to inrush currentThe C curve is valued for its versatility: it offers good protection while better withstanding inrush currents when starting certain equipment (small motors, fans, pumps, transformer-fed power supplies, etc.) than a B curve. Result: fewer nuisance trips during start-up, while maintaining a level of safety suited to everyday uses. This makes it a relevant choice for many everyday circuits, in homes, shops, light workshops or technical rooms, when the loads are not strictly resistive.4) 6 kA breaking capacity and EN 60898-1 compliance: European distribution board standardWith a breaking capacity of 6 kA, this MCB is suitable for many common low-voltage distribution configurations, allowing safe interruption of fault current within the limits of its specification. It is stated to comply with EN 60898-1, the reference standard for circuit breakers intended for domestic and similar installations in Europe. This compliance facilitates its integration into a European-type electrical distribution board. It operates on an AC 50 to 60 Hz network and integrates into standard AC installations (final compatibility depends on the design of the board and the characteristics of the network).5) Warning: version without residual-current protection, to be paired with an RCD or RCBO if requiredThis model does not have a residual-current function: it protects against overload and short circuit, but does not detect earth leakage current and does not replace protection of persons against indirect contact. For sensitive areas (bathroom, kitchen, outdoors, sockets close to a water point, water heater, accessible equipment), it is recommended to provide an upstream residual-current device (RCD) or to opt for a residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO) depending on the board architecture. For a safe and compliant installation, fitting and connection must be carried out by a qualified person, with correct tightening of the terminals and inspection in the event of repeated tripping (actual overload, insulation fault, short circuit, faulty connection, etc.).
