Product information

Description

1) 1) Reliable circuit protection, without residual current function (without earth leakage)This 4P 10 A miniature circuit breaker (MCB) is a modular protection device designed to be installed in an electrical distribution board or control cabinet. It provides reliable protection for circuits and equipment against the most common faults: overloads and short circuits. Its compact design and simple implementation make it a very widely used solution in final distribution, both in residential and commercial buildings. Important: this is an MCB without residual current protection (without “earth leakage / residual current tripping” function). For the protection of people against indirect contact and insulation faults, it is recommended to combine upstream or on the relevant circuit a suitable residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) or residual current breaker with overcurrent protection (RCBO).2) Main electrical characteristics (4P, 10 A, 230–400 V, 50/60 Hz)The product is 4-pole (4P), which allows the simultaneous disconnection of several conductors, a configuration particularly relevant in three-phase networks or in applications where several lines need to be isolated in a single operation. Its rated current is 10 A, a value frequently chosen for lighting circuits, control circuits or moderate-power outgoing circuits, depending on conductor sizing and installation conditions. The AC 230–400 V operating voltage covers common single-phase and three-phase uses, and 50/60 Hz compatibility allows integration into most European electrical environments.3) 6 kA breaking capacity and EN 60898-1 compliance (residential/commercial use)Compliant with EN 60898-1, this miniature circuit breaker is designed for low-voltage distribution applications typical of residential and commercial buildings, as well as for certain light industrial installations downstream of suitable protective devices. Its 6 kA breaking capacity provides an appreciable safety margin on final outgoing circuits: in the event of a short circuit, the device is capable of interrupting the fault current within the limits specified by the standard, helping to limit the risks of conductor overheating, equipment damage and installation downtime.4) C tripping curve: the best compromise against nuisance trippingThe C curve is particularly suitable when the circuit may experience inrush currents on start-up, higher than with purely resistive loads. It offers a good balance between continuity of service and level of protection: it helps avoid nuisance tripping while reacting quickly in the presence of a genuine fault. This characteristic is often suitable for loads such as small motors, fans, pumps, equipment containing transformers, or lines supplying several LED drivers and switched-mode power supplies, where transient peaks may appear on switching on.5) Integration advice, current rating selection and installation safety (DIN rail, qualified electrician)For a suitable choice of the 10 A rating, it is recommended to take into account the type of load, conductor cross-section, line length, ambient temperature and installation method in the board. In the event of overheating, repeated tripping or changes to the installation, it is preferable to diagnose the cause (overload, short circuit, connections, insulation fault) rather than increasing the rating without assessment. Installation is generally carried out on a DIN rail in a modular board. Upstream power isolation is imperative and the installation must be carried out by a qualified person in accordance with good practice. For complete protection including the risk of current leakage, combining it with a residual current device (RCCB/RCBO) is the most appropriate solution.
