Product information
Description
The NFC expansion board uses the PN532 chipset (the most widely used NFC chipset on the market), which is integrated into almost all NFC-enabled phones and devices. This chipset is very powerful and can perform many tasks, such as reading and writing to tags and cards, communicating with phones (for example, for payment processing), and emulating NFC tags. While the controller offers many features, our library currently only supports reading and writing tags and does not support communication between the phone and the expansion board, tag emulation (which requires an external secure element available only from NXP), or other advanced features. NFC (Near Field Communication) technology allows two devices in close proximity to communicate. It is similar to Bluetooth but with a very short range and requires no authentication. An extension of RFID technology, NFC offers the same capabilities. Thanks to its label read and write capability, it is ideal for RFID tag projects. We offer several tags compatible with this chip. It is also compatible with all other NFC/RFID tags of types 1 to 4 (and of course all other NXP MiFare-type tags) R3 or later. To use the I2C interface with a Mega R2 or earlier, two wires must be soldered, as the I2C pins are located in a different position on older Mega versions. Dimensions: see image. No retail packaging. Quantity: 1 piece. Note: Due to differences in monitor displays, the actual color of the item may differ slightly from the image shown.
