General description

With this hedgehog house, you can provide a shy, spiky friend a safe home for the winter. Complete with a cat-secure labyrinth entrance and a flap door, this hedgehog hutch offers optimal protection from predators. The fleece-lined inclined roof ensures that rainwater runs off, keeping the hedgehog nest dry, while the insulated floor keeps out the cold and damp, making hibernation more comfortable.

Installation

Position the box in a dry, shady, and protected area in early autumn.

Place the entrance in a weather-protected location.

Fill with foliage and straw to protect from other animals.

Place leaves nearby as natural nesting material.

Do not disturb the hedgehogs once settled.

Usage

Hibernation lasts around 5 months, typically from November to March. To check if a hedgehog is present, leave a twig in front of the entrance; if it is moved, the hedgehog is inside.
