This is a sink drain and a pressure drain. Why not replace your rubber stopper with a flexible one? A pressure drain is easy to replace if it malfunctions.
Press in the center with your fingers. There are two types of sinks: those with an overflow, where water drains through a hole in the top of the sink, and those without an overflow. Note that some sinks, even if they have an overflow, use a special drainpipe that connects to the main drain.
