This set of two SPX1096 covers is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement solution specifically designed for Hayward SP1096 and SP1097 series pool skimmers. Acting as a true "smart guardian" of the skimmer, the cover performs several vital functions: it isolates the pool water from the outside environment, directs surface debris into the skimmer basket, and prevents skimmed contaminants from rising back to the surface. When the original cover becomes brittle from prolonged sun exposure, worn hinges make opening and closing difficult, or buoyancy decreases and the seal is compromised, skimmer performance drops significantly, and the system can even become clogged with large particles.
