It has a very good adhesion and a great resistance to salt water, which makes it ideal for marine sealing work. With excellent filling properties, once dry, it can be painted. It is a versatile assembly product used in shipbuilding, suitable for making flexible, vibration-resistant seals, both indoors and outdoors. Sikaflex®-291i has excellent adhesion to the main substrates used in shipbuilding: wood, metals, primers and paints (two-component), ceramics and plastics (GRP, etc.). However, it should not be used on plastics subject to stress cracking. This product has a low flame spread in accordance with the standards imposed by the International Maritime Organization (IMO).
