Product information
Description
Features:1.Superior Material: High-speed steel taps have high hardness and toughness for wear resistance, well-suited for general applications.
2.Application: Suitable for most metals, including iron plate, copper, zinc, alloy steel, abrasive steel, A3 steel, stainless steel, etc.Proper addition of coolant (e.g., water) can extend tap life.
3.Widely Used: Can create new threads or rethread damaged or jammed threads.Uncoated taps have only the basic substrate without any additional coating and are suitable for a wide range of applications.
4. Practical: Adjustable front and rear, ratchet rotation, lightweight, compact and convenient to use, saving you time and energy.
5.Excellent Design: Standard metric thread design, clear and tidy, allows for rapid chip removal for efficient, sharp, and durable threading.
Specifications:Item Type: Straight Flute Tap
Material: High-Speed Steel
System: Metric
Thread Quantity: 4
Thread Tolerance Grade: 0.014
Per Hole/Blind Hole: Per Hole
Tap Style: Straight Slot
Thread Codes: Fine Thread
Application: Suitable for thick products. Head cone and double cone.Tap Function: There is a cone section at the front of the tap, which is polished and has no screw threads (very shallow), to facilitate alignment between the tap and the tap hole and ensure the perpendicularity of the tap and the hole for polished tapping.Function of the second cone: In addition to machining the head cone allowance to meet the standard, it also serves to polish the screw thread (deburring). For screw threads with a "blind hole," it can be "tapped down."Simply put, the head cone provides rough machining, and the second cone provides fine machining.
The workpiece must be properly clamped. The workpiece's thread base.Threads.
How to use: When tapping the thread, the screw tap should not be overtightened each time the hinge screw is turned.Generally, it is appropriate to screw in 1/2 to 1 turn at a time, and taps smaller than M5 should not be screwed in more than 1/2 turn at a time. When using fine threads or threads with high precision requirements, the feed rate should be reduced accordingly. The tapping speed for cast iron can be significantly faster than that for tapping steel. After each screw is turned, the thread is about to retract 1/2 of the stroke. When tapping deeper threads, the rotational stroke is greater and the thread must be turned back and forth several times. This can break off chips, making them easier to remove and reducing chip sticking to the tip, thus maintaining a cleaner edge. At the same time, the cutting fluid can smoothly enter the cutting area and act as both a cooling and lubricating agent. When rotating the hinge bar, the force of both hands must be balanced. Excessive force and side-to-side jerking should be avoided; otherwise, it is easy to tear the thread tooth, leading to expansion of the thread hole and tapering.

Advice from
Taps and dies buying guide
Taps and dies are essential to make or re-thread a screw, a nut or any other mechanical element. The three-piece tap sets are the most commoly used and the tap wrench is as important as the die stock for a proper tapping. Drilling is required before tapping.
