An easy mounting kit is often necessary to hang an object onto its support. For this purpose, manufacturers offer various solutions such as expansion metal dowels, claw dowels, hammer-in dowels, or polypropylene dowels to support heavy objects.
The choice of an easy mounting kit primarily depends on the type of support and the load to be supported. A support is considered solid when it does not contain any empty space. In most cases, it is made of solid brick, stone, or concrete. For this type of support, several mounting systems are available depending on the load:
- the expansion metal dowel can support a load of up to 750 kg;
- the claw metal dowel is ideal for a load of less than 500 kg;
- the hammer-in nylon dowel can hold an object of less than 150 kg;
- the expansion and anchorage nylon dowel is to be preferred for supporting a load of less than 100 kg;
- the polypropylene dowel with a standard or multi-material collar can support a load of less than 50 kg;
- the dowel collar is ideal for an object weighing up to 20 kg.
A support is considered hollow when it is made of hollow brick, hollow concrete block, hollow core slab, or classic, honeycomb, or insulated plasterboard. For this type of support, the choice of the mounting kit includes:
- the large expansion metal dowels that can support a weight of less than 200 kg;
- the form-locking dowels and those with bi-component deformation that can support a load of less than 130 kg;
- the expansion metal dowels or the nylon deformation dowels recommended for supporting an object of less than 50 kg;
- the expansion plastic dowels or the claw dowels supporting a load between 10 and 20 kg.
Thus, to avoid making a mistake in choosing the easy mounting kit, it is recommended to read the product sheet or label which can reveal the best way to use the kit and the different constraints it can support.
