Steps to follow: Soak the exhaust tape with water before use.

During installation, wrap the heat-resistant tape layer by layer around the exhaust manifold, remove any excess, and secure it with stainless steel cable ties. For exhaust systems and manifolds, as well as domestic gas pipes, this thermal insulation effectively prevents burns. (The new product will produce white smoke when in use; this is normal.)
