Description

  • InsOpaint has a distinct energy-saving advantage and has been scientifically proven to work
  • Combination of breathability with insulating properties helps reduce condensation problems
  • Reduces heat loss
  • Helps prevent unsightly toxic mould
  • Water based so eco friendly

InsOpaint Interior offers the perfect balance: excellent quality and maximum performance with a noticeably superior texture and finish. With very low VOC/odour levels, InsOpaint?s incredible combination of breathability along with its insulating properties helps dramatically reduce condensation problems, if not eliminating them entirely. InsOpaint, has been independently tested across the world to UK, EU and ASTM standards. Applying a minimum of two coats of InsOpaint on walls and ceilings gives maximum thermal efficiency. InsOpaint covers up to 7 m_ per litre with the recommended minimum of two coats. Thermilate InsOpaint Interior can easily be applied by brush, roller or spray. If you are spray painting, filters MUST be removed and nozzle size increased to between 0.019X to 0.026X. Use InsOpaint in just the same areas as conventional emulsions. InsOpaint however has a distinct energy-saving advantage and has been scientifically proven to work. So a 5L tub will cover up to 35 m_ with 2 coats. You can wallpaper over InsOpaint and it will continue to provide you with a thermal barrier to reduce the heat lost through the walls and ceilings by reflecting the heat BACK in to the room/building. The same energy-saving results will be obtained by InsOpaint?s thermal barrier, because once it?s been painted on, it keeps working. InsOpaint works well when painted on top of lining paper, wallpaper already painted with another emulsion and non-blown vinyl wallpapers. InsOpaint should not be applied to ?blown vinyl? wallpapers which absorb the paint and leave the insulating micro technology as a residue which will later become dispersed. It comes in 24 different colours and ships in 5L containers. Benefits: Reduces heat loss, Less energy needed so reduces heating bills, Reduces condensation problems, Helps prevent unsightly toxic mould, Lowest cost wall & ceiling insulation, Water based so eco friendly.

Have used a better product but it is now not available
Having used another company's insulating paint on previous occasions I was fully aware of the quality of the paint. The original company appears to have ceased trading so I was forced to source another similar product. Hence I purchased four x 5 litres of this paint. It is stated that this paint can be used as a topcoat as it can be ordered in a number of different colours and I will return to this later. The paint is used just like an emulsion and is applied by brush or roller. I would stress that if this is being used on new plaster or new lining paper that a wash coat of dilute emulsion be applied before using the insulating paint. (It is an expensive paint to use as a first coat as it does soak in appreciably but remarkably less so after a wash coat) Follow the instructions and allow the indicated time between coats, even slightly longer to ensure the first coat is fully dry before the application of the second. Once both coats are dry the surface will be extremely rough to the touch, (slide your flattened hand across it and then imagine a child's face falling against it) so I applied two coats of a good quality trade emulsion over it to reduce this roughness. The previous paint I used exhibited some roughness but not anywhere near this paint. The overall effect is good but it should be after the application of 5 coats of paint. Does the insulating paint work. The best way of testing this is by leaving one wall of the room with just the wash coat on it, apply the two coats of insulating paint on the other walls and when dry place a flattened hand on each wall and you will notice a difference in temperature between the two different paints. I have, as stated, used a similar paint in other properties and the feed back from those owners has always been positive. i still await feedback from the owner of the property that this paint has been applied to Read more
