Description:

An insert nut provides a threaded hole for a piece of wood, similar to a wall anchor. These insert nuts are inserted by screwing them into a pre-drilled hole; in this case, the outer protrusions in the wood prevent the nut from spinning or coming loose.

These insert nuts are made from high-carbon steel, highly zinc-plated for durability and rust protection. The screw-in insert nuts have a male drive and a hex socket drive and are tightened with a hex key. Insert nuts are advantageous over pan nuts and T-nuts because they can be installed from one side of the piece. The pilot hole must be as deep as the length of the insert nut plus any portion of the stud that may extend beyond the end of the nut into the workpiece.
