Take the hardness tester. Keep the pressure needle at least 12mm from the sample's smooth edge. Apply pressure to the sample using the pressure foot. Push the needle vertically into the sample until the pressure foot and sample are in complete contact. The reading should be less than 1 second. By measuring at least 6 mm in different positions, take the average of the hardness value 5 times and calculate the average (microporous materials should measure at least 15 mm).
